ABOUT

Curling, a sport for everyone!

The Sun Devil Curling Club is a student organization with the goal to introduce the Olympic sport of curling to Arizona State. Curling is a sport with a culture focused on community and integrity. The game begins with a handshake, and fouls are self-regulated, encouraging good sportsmanship. After a game, the teams share a drink or meal together, called broomstacking, regardless of outcome. Tournaments, called bonspiels, are community-focused, with many events occurring on and off the ice. Curling is an inclusive sport, allowing players of all ability and drive to participate.
By building a curling club at Arizona State, we wish to bring that community to the student body, because curling is a sport everyone can learn and have fun while doing it.
We aim to hold learn-to-curls at nearby Coyotes Curling Club, have watch nights to learn more about the game, strategy, and players, and eventually to field a team that can compete in regional and national tournaments, called bonspiels.
